The Sanctuary of Truth is a gigantic temple cum museum located in  Soi Naklua 12, Pattaya. Also called The Sanctuary Wong Amat, this beautiful temple has been constructed using nothing but Wood. This temple has a total indoor space is 2115 square meters and stands 105 meters high. In 1981, this project was initiated based on an idea of a Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphant. The completion of the entire temple might take as long as 70 years which means the Sanctuary of Truth is still under construction.
The Sanctuary of Truth is an Indo-Thai architecture from the Ayutthaya period. A blend of Hindu-Buddhist hand-carved wooden sculptures drawn from Dravidian and Thai cultures. The four gopuras have four heads of Brahma (Phra Phrom) representing Ancient Vision of Earth, Knowledge, and Philosophy.

Review

The view of this beautiful temple was from the viewpoint. With a beautiful beach background, the Sanctuary of Truth stands tall and elegant. At the entrance, a Thai lady will give you a yellow helmet and shows you the way towards the temple. On the right side much before the temple, you can spot many people carving different deities, pillars and so on, do check that out. The detailing of each carving looks unbelievable because every carving is beautiful. As I am an Indian, I didn’t need any guide to take me around. They have carved different Hindu gods and epics which is so relatable to the Indian culture. So if you are in Pattaya, never miss a chance to visit the Sanctuary of Truth.
