Wat Yansangwararam is the oldest temple near Pattaya. Built on 148 acres of land, Wat Yansangwararam is an enormous architectural marvel built around the year 1976. This temple was constructed to honour the Supreme Patriarch Somdej Phra Yanasangworn.
The first complex is called Viharn Sien, a Chinese temple and museum. Viharn Sien consists of a magnificent collection of Chinese artefacts and antiques. The main temple complex is called Wat Yan, and its mandapa contains the footprint of the Buddha. Inside a large white stupa, there are relics of Buddha and his followers.
Review
Wat Yansangwararam is one of those architectural marvels I love. A mix of Indian, Japanese, Thai and Swiss architectural footprints on this temple. Stand on the top of the temple complex, and you can spot the Golden Buddha mountain in the distance. The complex is usually quiet, but it can get messy on public holidays. Try meditation at this place, I am sure you won’t regret the decision.
